Remembrance is a State of Heart
Body-centered psychotherapy with a focus on interdependence, the unconscious, and a non-pathologizing stance on mental health.
Who Am I?
Welcome.
I’m Dakota Parmley, Professional Counselor Associate, and I'm honored you’re here.
The Heart of Remembrance is a space that highlights the counseling services I offer, along with some psychoeducational materials on Hakomi, depth psychology, and the psychospiritual orientation from which I work.
May it be of benefit to you and all beings.
I am a Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of Jenn Samsom, license C3886.
My registration number is R9426.
Offerings at Heart of Remembrance
My counseling services are here to help you on your path through life and to make meaning of your suffering. I aim to offer a space and sanctuary, through presence and attunement, where reconnection and remembrance are possible.
For individual sessions, my fee is $150. Paying privately can be a meaningful way to increase privacy from health insurance companies and to help signal an internal commitment to change through contributing material resources. I offer a small number of sliding scale options, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you are interested.
As an associate, I cannot bill insurance independently. I work with a clinic that allows me to, and you can find their website here and set up an appointment if you’d like: https://www.mindfultherapypnw.com/

I offer free, 15-minute consultations. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have more questions.
Frequently Asked Questions

I offer two types of individual counseling sessions: standard 60-minute counseling sessions and more intensive 90-minute sessions.
I plan to add group work and courses for people soon, at various levels of accessibility. -
Hakomi is a somatic, or body-centered, therapy. It emphasizes mindfulness, and organizes its work around the clinician's helping a client deepen and explore their own experience through awareness. It can be a very powerful means of working when intellectual analysis has stopped proving useful, though it does ask more of the client.

Depth psychology has a meaning as vast as all you are unaware of in this very moment. It includes the world of dreams, symbols, myth, archetype, and even ecological consciousness that is shared by all beings on earth.
Working with depth psychology means honoring your unconscious and all the parts of yourself you have repressed or exiled, and increasing awareness so as to bring them back into the wholeness of your being. It can be an uncomfortable, yet extremely rewarding journey. You can read my intro piece on depth psychology here: What is Depth Psychology?
